Dr. Karina Salazar, Assistant Professor in the Center for the Study of Higher Education, has been selected as one of only seven 2026 Provost Fellows for Academic Success Goals at the University of Arizona. Chosen from a competitive pool of faculty across the University, Dr. Salazar will serve as the Provost Fellow for Engagement with Our Communities to Create Opportunity.

Dr. Salazar’s scholarship and service are uniquely aligned with this role. She has built a sustained and impactful partnership with the Sunnyside Unified School District, working to increase college awareness, applications, and enrollment pathways to the University of Arizona. Her research has played a critical role in informing and advancing meaningful educational interventions, contributing to more equitable access to higher education for historically underserved communities.
