Assistant Professor of Practice, Disability and Psychoeducational Studies

Dr. Lisa Serino is an Assistant Professor of Practice in the Visual Impairment teacher preparation program within the Department of Disability and Psychoeducational Studies at the University of Arizona. Her scholarship focuses on promoting literacy for students with visual impairments and students with visual impairments and complex learning needs. Dr. Serino teaches graduate courses covering both literary braille and technical braille math codes; as well as evidence-based practices for teaching reading, math and science to students with visual impairments. She also oversees practicum and internship experiences in a variety of educational placements. Through her work, Dr. Serino continues to promote collaboration and to ensure access to literacy and math education for students with visual impairments.
