Illustrator Studio: Oil Painting Demonstration

Worlds of Words will be hosting Wilson Ong, a fine artist who works in oils and created the illustrations for Paper Son: Lee’s Journey to America.  We are fortunate to have an exhibition of the original oil illustrations for this picturebook about the experiences of a young Chinese boy immigrating to the U.S. in the late 1800s during the time of the Chinese Exclusion Laws as the son “on paper” of a Chinese American family. 

Wilson will demonstrate his oil painting techniques and share his strategies for creating the illustrations of Paper Son.  Join us at the studio in Worlds of Words to interact with Wilson and his art.
