Get ready to teach every student in your classroom. This in-person program at our Tucson Main Campus prepares you to lead K-8 classrooms in English while building real skill in supporting multilingual learners.
Real classrooms, from day one. Every semester, all four of them, you're placed in schools working directly with students from diverse linguistic backgrounds, building the skills and confidence to teach effectively long before you graduate. You'll graduate ready to walk into any classroom and know how to reach every learner in it, language differences included.
Study and research teaching practices, methods, and academic concentration.
Gain hands-on experience working with children in K-8 English Language Learner classrooms.
Prepare to teach in K-8 traditional or multilingual classrooms.
Careers
Graduates teach in public and private elementary schools in grades K-8 in Arizona and other states. Other graduates have gone on to graduate school in counseling, special education, and policy studies.
