The MA Special Education - Visual Impairment program prepares students to teach children who are visually impaired. Nationally recognized for excellence, this program will give you the skill set to help students with visual impairments succeed academically and socially.

Looking for funding? Project PIVIT
Preparation of Individuals with Visual Impairments in Transition (PIVIT) is a federally funded loan forgiveness grant program, offering full-tuition scholarships to help improve the coordination of recruitment efforts in Arizona and increase highly qualified teachers who have current knowledge about transitional services for students with visual impairments. Admission Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree: must be posted by the time student enters program
- GPA: 3.0 overall in baccalaureate coursework
- Documentation of 45 contact hours with children with special needs in a public school classroom (optional).
- A minimum of three professional letters of recommendation.
- Ability to qualify for an Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card to allow work with minors in public school environments.
- Submission of a graduate application and payment of a graduate application fee.
- Faculty interview
- TOEFL (Total and TWE) scores - if applicable
