Em Bowen is a 6th year doctoral candidate in the Language, Reading, and Cultural program within the department of Teaching, Learning, and Sociocultural Studies. They are a graduate assistant in the College of Education Elementary Education Program, a current middle school language arts teacher, and a former Arizona 4th and 5th grade teacher. Their research focuses on care theory, literacy, and the experiences of trans and queer educators.
