A swim coach wearing a red USC cap, sunglasses, and a black jacket with the USC Trojans logo speaks with a swimmer wearing a black swim cap with the USC logo and a white towel draped over their shoulders. The coach is holding a piece of paper and appears to be giving instructions. Other swimmers and team members are visible in the background at the poolside.

The Leadership and Learning Innovation program is shaping future leaders across industries—including athletics. One outstanding example is Brooks Fail, an LLL graduate who now serves as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the swimming and diving team at the University of Southern California.

In his role, Brooks interacts with athletes from around the world, helping them develop both in and out of the pool. “Our goal here is to make our athletes not only fast performers in the pool, but also great leaders, great employers, and great people,” Brooks says.

His journey demonstrates how the program’s emphasis on leadership, communication, and education can prepare graduates for success in a wide range of fields. Whether you’re interested in coaching, community engagement, corporate leadership, or education, this program provides the skills to make an impact.
