As part of a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) and land grant university, we prioritize serving diverse communities by preparing professional counselors to acknowledge the role of privilege and oppression, address systemic barriers, and promote social justice. Through rigorous academic training, culturally responsive practice, and community engagement, our program empowers our students and graduates to advocate for and support the well-being of all individuals, particularly those from historically marginalized populations.

The Counselor Education & Supervision Ph.D. program is designed to prepare students for positions of leadership in counselor education and research. The goal of the program is to prepare counselor educators and supervisors who identify as professional counselors and who are knowledgeable in all areas of applicable CACREP standards.

If you are passionate about helping people achieve their goals while also removing the systemic and structural barriers in our communities, a BSE in Rehabilitation Studies and Services may be for you! This program operates on the philosophy that environmental barriers (physical, social, workplace, educational, attitudinal) cause one to be disabled, marginalized, and disconnected, and that rehabilitation is a process of empowerment in which people exercise control over their own lives. Every person has the right to be a full participant in our communities.
