Taucia González

Education Spotlight

Meet Dr. Taucia González, Associate Professor of Special Education in the Department of Disability and Psychoeducational Studies at the University of Arizona College of Education. An award-winning scholar and educator, she has received multiple honors, including the AERA Latina/o/x Research Issues SIG Early Career Scholar Award, the 2023 Early Career Award from the Division for Culturally Diverse Exceptional Learners, and the 2025 Provost Award for Innovation in Teaching. Drawing on more than two decades of experience with Latina/o/x communities, Dr. González’s research focuses on equity for emergent bilingual youth with and without learning disabilities, with current work exploring the use of testimonios to address inequitable educational experiences.
