ADELANTE Speaker Series: Places, Poetics, and Practices of Care

TOGETHER WE THRIVE: SUPPORTING IMMIGRANT STUDENTS EVERY STEP

We are excited to invite you to the second event of the ADELANTE Speaker Series: Places, Poetics, and Practices of Care—a dynamic conversation exploring how place-based knowledge, cultural expressions, and community practices foster resilience and well-being in the Borderlands and beyond.
TOGETHER WE THRIVE: SUPPORTING IMMIGRANT STUDENTS EVERY STEP

Speakers:
* Jessica Martinez (She/Her/Ella) – Immigrant Student Support Coordinator, Thrive Center
* Blanca Alcantara-Hershey – Coordinator, Education & Initiatives

Join us for a Q&A session about the work happening at Immigrant Student Resources. Learn about the support and resources available both on and off campus to help immigrant students thrive. This is a unique opportunity to connect, ask questions, and explore ways we can support students every step of the way.

This series was created with a deep commitment to amplifying voices, sharing stories, and uplifting experiences—especially those of Latinx, first-generation, and low-income students. These conversations aim to inspire action, spark critical dialogue, and remind us of the power of advocacy and community engagement.

We hope you’ll join us for this important discussion on how storytelling, activism, and education cultivate spaces of care and belonging.

RSVP by March 20!
