Robert Q. Berry III
Dean and Paul L. Lindsey and Kathy J. Alexander Chair
Dr. Robert Q. Berry III joined the University of Arizona on July 1, 2022 from the University of Virginia, where he was previously the inaugural Associate Dean of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the School of Education and Human Development and the Samuel Braley Gray Professor of Mathematics Education.
Additionally, Dr. Berry is the immediate Past-President of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), and he was recently elected to the National Academy of Education. His research focuses on the experiences of Black children in mathematics and unpacking equitable mathematics teaching and learning with issues of social justice. He has authored more than 100 publications and delivered lectures worldwide.
Berry is a first-generation college graduate who received his Bachelor of Science from Old Dominion University, his master's degree from Christopher Newport University, and a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His wife Michelle is a mathematics teacher; they have three wonderful children together.

Faculty Affairs
Faculty support and guidance on shared governance, annual performance reviews, sabbaticals/professional development leaves, including developing best practices for promotion.
Human Resources
Human Resources Shared Services seeks to strengthen the diverse and inclusive culture and climate in the college through the recruitment and retention of students, staff, and faculty.
Information Technology Support
Provides IT support to the college, as well as equipment checkout for a variety of media, including laptops, projectors, digital voice recorders, video cameras, digital still cameras, videoconferencing cart, DVD players, and Webcams.
Instructional and Learning Technologies
Assists faculty, staff, and students with the discovery and implementation of technology to support teaching and learning.

Tells the state, the nation, and even the world about the intriguing — and sometimes life-altering — things that happen at the College of Education every day.
