Alex Lynch

Principal Lecturer

Alex Lynch is Faculty Chair, Program Director for the American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf Studies Program, and a Principal Lecturer in the College of Education at the University of Arizona.

In his role, he provides academic leadership across ASL, Deaf Studies, and Educational Interpreting, while teaching ASL courses from the introductory to advanced levels. He also directs the program’s dual enrollment partnerships with local high schools, expanding access to ASL education for younger learners.

Through his teaching, leadership, and grant management, Alex is committed to advancing ASL education, supporting Deaf Studies, and preparing interpreters to meet critical national needs.

He earned his MBA from the University of Arizona and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. with a research focus on sense of belonging and accessibility for Deaf students in higher education.
