
Amy Zenizo works as a full-time interpreter for the Deaf. She teaches practicum courses at the University of Arizona. Amy holds a master’s degree from Western Oregon University with an emphasis in teaching interpreters. She works with colleagues who are new to the field as well as those who are seasoned, guiding them through the process of supervision using Demand Control Schema. She has been working with colleagues across the country since 2013. Her current interests include introducing more interpreters to DC-S and using group case conferencing to address empathetic fatigue and encourage restorative actions.
Amy received honors from the University of Arizona as the 2010 Outstanding Senior. She continues to mentor interpreters who are pre-certified and those who are new to the field, encouraging collaboration and cooperation among peers and colleagues. One of her biggest endeavors is helping to eliminate horizontal violence in the field.
