College of Education Student Ambassadors are dedicated representatives who professionally and proudly represent the student perspective of our college. They play a crucial role in connecting with prospective and new students and their families, assisting them in making well-informed decisions.

Ambassadors shine at various events such as Arizona Experience, Wildcat Snapshot, Admitted Student Day, College Fairs, Student Panels, and various other events. Throughout their experience, Ambassadors develop strong communication and leadership skills that empower them for future success.

Rachel Barton

Rachel Barton (she/her/hers) was born and raised in Bullhead City, Arizona. She is currently a senior at the University of Arizona, studying Leadership & Learning Innovation with a minor in Special Education, and plans to pursue an Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in School Psychology. During her time here at The University of Arizona, Rachel hopes to gain real-world experiences, help others find their place, and make memories to last a lifetime.

Angela Cazares

Angela Cazares (she/her/hers) was born in Yuma, Arizona but has mostly been raised in Nogales, Arizona where she decided to pack her bags and come to the University of Arizona. She is a current sophomore dual majoring in Leadership & Learning Innovation and History and minoring in Spanish. In the future, she hopes to teach 9h-12th history and one day become a professor. She is a proud member of her community and loves to share some school spirit as a member of the Pride of Arizona Marching Band. She is very excited to share her love for the university as well as education and help others as an ambassador for the College of Education.

Alyssa Freeman

Alyssa Freeman (she/her) is from Fredericksburg, Virginia, and has discovered her passion for creativity at the University of Arizona. She is currently majoring in Leadership and Learning Innovation with a minor in ASL while also being a student-athlete on the Wheelchair Basketball team. Going into her junior year, Alyssa hopes to use her role as an ambassador to make a positive impact on others and promote leadership through her classes and various organizations during her time in Tucson. You can find her at the DRC (Disability Resource Center), Bear Down Gym, or rolling through campus. Alyssa is excited to be part of the College of Education Ambassador program this year and plans to continue developing her leadership skills.

Mackenzie Frithsen

Mackenzie Frithsen (she/her/hers) is a senior at the University of Arizona, College of Education studying Early Childhood Education. Mackenzie is originally from Tucson, so hit her up for any good spots. She has plans to pursue a Master’s degree after she graduates, and start working as an educator. During her time at the U of A, Mackenzie has been able to participate in a variety of different clubs and activities including the COE Student Council and the Dean’s Advisory Board. Mackenzie has worked with the COE Ambassadors all four years of her college career, and has gained skills like leadership, public speaking, and a deeper knowledge about the school she attends. Outside of school, she has joined the SAZAEYC Board as a student representative, and works towards improving the quality of Early Childhood Education in Southern Arizona. For this final year, Mackenzie is looking forward to continuing making the most of her time at the U of A. Reach out to her if you have any questions or need anything.

Lizeth Garcia

Lizeth Garcia (she/her/hers) was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. Lizeth most enjoys the welcoming community and opportunities available for all students at The University of Arizona. She is currently studying Elementary Education with a Bilingual Endorsement and Spanish with the plans of becoming a first or second grade teacher at a bilingual school. During her time here at The University of Arizona, Lizeth hopes to study abroad to learn about different cultures, foods and languages so that she can radiate inclusion and diversity the day she has a classroom of her own ! While doing so, Lizeth is excited to share her love for the university as a COE ambassador.

Bethany Kern

Bethany Kern (she/her/hers) was born in Tucson, Arizona but has traveled all over the world. While living here my whole life she had found a home and community here at The University of Arizona. She is currently studying Disabilities and Rehabilitation and a minor in Business and Technical Writing with the plans of becoming a Mobility Instructor for Guide Dogs for the Blind. During her time here at The University of Arizona, Bethany hopes to prepare for learn how to help others, make memories, and share her love for the university as an ambassador for the College of Education.

Molly Martin

Molly Martin (she/her/hers), originally from Naperville, Illinois, found her way to the University of Arizona enticed by its picturesque weather and abundant educational prospects. Embracing Tucson's desert landscape and the vibrant spirit of ZonaZoo, Molly is currently pursuing a major in Leadership and Learning Innovation, complemented by double minors in Educational Psychology and Recreation and Sport in Communities, Parks, and Schools. Her passion lies in informal youth education, and she is dedicated to honing her skills and expertise during her tenure at the University of Arizona. With aspirations to contribute to future generations, create lasting memories, and serve as an enthusiastic ambassador for her alma mater, Molly is poised to make a meaningful impact within the university community and beyond.

Roarke Poggio

Roarke (rhymes with fork/New York) Poggio is a senior at the University of Arizona, majoring in Leadership and Learning Innovation with a minor in Educational Leadership Studies and Practice. Passionate about student connection, engagement, and wellness, Roarke has been involved in many activities and organizations throughout the College of Education and Housing and Residential Life. She is not only an Ambassador, but also a Dean’s Advisory Board member, TLS 197 peer mentor, W.A. Franke Honors student, former SALT Center peer tutor, former resident assistant, and former Residential Life Hall Council mentor. For this final year, she most looks forward to meeting and creating more relationships with peers and faculty, as well as completing her honors thesis! Roarke aspires to work with undergraduate students and young adults after graduation. Her favorite song right now is “So Yesterday” by Hilary Duff.

Daniela Ruby Vasavilbaso

Daniela Ruby Vasavilbaso (she/her/hers) was born in Tucson, Arizona. She is a first-generation, Mexican-American student entering her fourth year at the University of Arizona. She is double majoring in Elementary Education with a Bilingual Emphasis and Spanish, and minoring in Adolescents, Community, and Education. She is passionate about advocating for historically underrepresented students and future educators, and her cultural identity plays a significant role in her commitment to equity in education. Through her involvement in TRIO Teacher Prep and the Arizona Teaching Fellows program for the Tucson Unified School District, she has gained valuable experience in community-centered and culturally responsive teaching. She currently serves as the secretary of the College of Education Student Council and president of her multicultural sorority, Gamma Alpha Omega. She also had the opportunity to study abroad in Spain and Costa Rica, which deepened her passion for bilingual education and strengthened her connection to the Spanish language and culture. As a College of Education Ambassador, she is excited to support and uplift her peers while continuing to grow as a future educator.

Maddie Wilkov

Maddie Wilkov (she/her/hers) is originally from Cleveland, Ohio, I am a freshman at the University of Arizona, pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education. In addition to my studies, I am an active member of the Hillel organization on campus, where I engage with my community and build meaningful connections. As a student ambassador for the College of Education, I am committed to making a positive impact by supporting fellow students.
