The following degree programs require professional admission to the program:

  • Early Childhood Education
  • Elementary Education (ESL and bilingual programs)
  • Mild to Moderate Disabilities (special education teaching)
  • Deaf Studies (education interpreting and non-interpreting)

These programs require students to apply to the University of Arizona AND for professional admission to the College of Education.

Your Transfer Plan

The first step to a successful transfer is understanding how credits you’ve already earned at another college or university align with University of Arizona College of Education requirements.

PLEASE NOTE: Since many of our programs lead to certification, the College requires an application for professional admission the semester before you start a professional program. It is critical that you meet with a College of Education academic advisor (1-2 semesters from transferring) to prepare for success.
