In Person
The Counselor Education and Supervision (CES) minor is designed to introduce students to the complexities of multiple or co-occurring disabilities, including the co-occurrence of mental and physical disorders in the same person. With an emphasis on resilience and well-being, the minor is grounded in holistic, integrative, and trauma-informed care with awareness of social determinants of health as nonmedical factors that influence health outcomes.
A minor in Counselor Education and Supervision does not lead to any certification or licensure to practice as a counselor.
Understand the lived experience of persons with disabilities from the perspective of individuals, their families, the disability community, and world initiatives.
Gain valuable insight into social determinants of health as nonmedical factors that influence health outcomes. Examples include food insecurity, lack of safe housing, and inadequate public transportation.
