Graduate Minor
Quick Facts
Main Campus (Tucson)
In Person
The higher education minor is ideal for individuals interested in the study of student access, experience, and success, higher education leadership and policy, and/or faculty and staff careers. It consists of 9 hours (or three classes) and is available to any degree-seeking graduate student at the University of Arizona.
A formal higher education minor is transcriptable, which means it will appear on a student’s final transcript and diploma. To complete a formal minor, the Higher Education minor requires Higher Education 601 - U.S. Higher Education OR Higher Education 610 – History and Philosophy of Higher Education, and either Higher Education 608 - The College Student OR Higher Education 636 – College Access and Success.
An informal higher education minor also requires 9 hours (or three Higher Education courses), but it is not transcriptable and will not appear on the student's transcript. Informal minors should be tailored to reflect a student’s individual research interests or professional goals.
