Admission Requirements

  • Identify a minor advisor (core school psychology faculty)
  • Obtain approval from core faculty
  • Fingerprint Clearance: SERP549 (required for a minor) and SERP517 include a field experience in a school district. Enrollment in these classes is contingent upon obtaining an AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card. If you are denied an AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card, you will not be able to enroll in the program, as it is a requirement in Arizona for all adults working in schools in any capacity.
  • Written Examination Requirement will consist of one of the following (in consultation with minor advisor):
    • Written examination covering the field of school psychology and selected coursework
    • Written paper (approximately 15 pages) on a selected topic decided between the student and minor advisor; quality consistent with publication
    • Take home examination

NOTE: A minor in School Psychology does not lead to any certification or licensure to practice as a school psychologist.
