Luminaries Outstanding Faculty Awards

The University of Arizona will celebrate faculty excellence at the 2025 Luminaries Outstanding Faculty Awards on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the Stevie Eller Dance Theatre. Often called “Academia’s Oscars,” this annual event recognizes faculty members whose teaching, research, and service illuminate the university community and beyond.

This year, three extraordinary College of Education faculty members are among the honorees: Dr. Desiree Vega, Dr. Gary Rhoades, and Dr. Melanie McKay-Cody.

Each honoree is featured in a special spotlight video that shares their story, their Arizona journey, and the impact of their work. Through their dedication and leadership, these faculty members embody the values of equity, inclusion, and excellence that define the College of Education.
