"Being present and positive each day helps create a brighter atmosphere in the office and department."

Please share a little bit about where you grew up and what brought you to Tucson (if you were raised here, what is something that you enjoy about Tucson?).

I grew up in Show Low in the White Mountains, but I was born in Tucson. I was born at TMC, and so were both of my kids. While I loved growing up in a small town, I was ready to move not long after I graduated from high school. My then-fiancé and I both have ties to Tucson, so we picked Tucson. Tucson "winters" are much better than in Show Low.

How long have you worked at the college or university, and can you share a little bit about your job within the college?

I have worked at COE and UA for 6 years. It will be 7 in January.

"I need to manage multitasking as I work across various responsibilities, aiming to support staff and faculty with care and empathy."

What's one part of your job that people might not realize or understand about what you do daily?

I need to manage multitasking as I work across various responsibilities, aiming to support staff and faculty with care and empathy. Being present and positive each day helps create a brighter atmosphere in the office and department.

If there's a favorite place you enjoy on campus and around Tucson, please share what makes it special.

We like to get outside when it's not too hot and like going to Madera Canyon with our dogs to hike and have a picnic.  We also love to fish at Pena Blanca Lake.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

My husband and I are now empty nesters, as our kids were married last year. We enjoy spending time outdoors, engaging in activities like camping, fishing, hunting, and hiking. I also have a passion for reading and crafting. I typically read three books each month and keep a list of all the novels and books I’ve finished. Crafting with my Cricut is a favorite hobby—it's a machine that cuts fabric, paper, and other materials into creative designs. I love making personalized items for my family and close friends. If you visit my office, I’d be happy to show you how to get started with Cricut crafting!
