Teach Arizona is a fast-track, one-year MEd plus certification program for prospective high school or middle school teachers who have a bachelor’s degree and want to teach one of the following subjects: mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, earth science, general science, Spanish, American Sign Language, Mandarin, French, English, history, political science, or economics. Teach Arizona students have the opportunity to complete a year-long student teaching internship during the program before stepping into the profession. Our graduates are well-prepared to become highly successful middle school and high school teachers.
Tuition may be fully covered by Arizona Teachers Academy or by scholarship, pending availability. You can participate in Teach Arizona from anywhere in the state.
Tucson Program
The Tucson Teach Arizona program is taught in the traditional in-person format. Students complete a half-day internship in school districts throughout the greater Tucson area.
Statewide Program
The Statewide Teach Arizona program is taught in a hybrid format with online coursework and synchronous Zoom class sessions. Students participate in a half-day internship in a school near them.
Upon completion, students earn the MEd and are eligible for Arizona secondary certification (grades 6-12). In addition to becoming classroom teachers, our graduates also work as leaders in community education roles such as in museums or nonprofits.
