POSTPONED Lessons In Liberation: An Abolitionist Toolkit for Educators - Book Discussion

On behalf of the Education Policy Center, the College of Education Diversity Committee and the TLS Equity Committee, please join us March 2, 2023, 11:30 am - 1:00 in a discussion about Lessons in Liberation (Education for Liberation Network & Critical Resistance Editorial Collective, 2021). This is the second in a series of book talks about topics and issues of interest to many of us in the College. The discussion will be co-facilitated by Rebecca Zapien, a community liaison in TLS who has used the book with her students. You are welcome to attend in person (room 257) or via Zoom.

Lessons in Liberation is a wonderful collection of essays, reflections, discussions and lessons about abolitionist teaching and learning. The book is designed as a theoretical and pedagogical toolkit to help teachers and community organizers build critical bridges between educational practice and the abolitionist movement.  If you are aware of the abolitionist movement, are using abolitionist pedagogy in your classes, or simply want to learn more about it, please join us! You do not have to have read the book to participate. The book is available electronically at the University of Arizona library.
