Emancipatory Education, Graduate Minor

The Emancipatory Education graduate minor is focused on encouraging P-20 educational leaders across all sectors (e.g., teachers, faculty, administrators, and policymakers) to develop liberatory approaches to education. The overarching goal of the minor is to encourage students to be active participants in seeking transformative educational praxis, which involves moving beyond identifying problems and challenges and toward creative approaches to improving educational systems and practices.

Motivating Learning Environments, Graduate Certificate

The Motivating Learning Environments Certificate offers a chance for students to enhance learning by gaining knowledge of how to develop motivating learning environments. Many teachers and administrators have rich understandings of teaching strategy and content but have had little opportunity to explore theoretical or conceptual knowledge of how students learn. In this certificate program, students have the opportunity to study rich concepts and theories that have been developed in the fields of motivation, instruction, and learning.

Educational Research Methodology, Graduate Certificate

The Educational Research Methodology Certificate prepares students to conduct educational research. Teachers and administrators often possess rich knowledge of curriculum and instruction, but may not have sufficient methodological and statistical knowledge to perform or interpret educational research. This program addresses the development of these abilities and affords students in the social and behavioral sciences with an opportunity to develop some intermediate-level skills for conducting research/program evaluation.

Applied Behavior Analysis, M.A.

The University of Arizona online program delivers a flexible but rigorous online education for students interested working with people who need to improve communication, social and adaptive skills. Our program prepares students to provide evidence-based services in applied behavior analysis in clinical, school, and home setting.
