Educational Psychology, Minor

The Educational Psychology minor is designed to allow students from many disciplines to explore child, adolescent, and adult development, concerns, and opportunities. Coursework includes consideration of the dynamics of learning and motivation in informal settings and traditional and non-traditional school settings. Educational policy and program evaluation courses provide students a larger framework within which to consider and assess programs relevant to youth and their well-being.

Global Education, Minor

In the Global Education minor, students learn to work with diverse international populations in the US and abroad. The curriculum covers challenges in global education, preparing students to address these issues through ethical and social reasoning. Additionally, students will be able to tailor their minor curriculum to more specific professional and academic areas of interest, such as schooling, human rights, and sustainability.

Rehabilitation Studies & Services, B.S.E.

If you are passionate about assisting people achieve their goals while also advocating for removal of barriers in our communities, a BSE in Rehabilitation Studies and Services may be for you! This program operates on the philosophy that environmental barriers (physical, social, workplace, educational, attitudinal) cause one to be disabled, marginalized, and disconnected, and that rehabilitation is a process of empowerment in which people exercise control over their own lives. Every person has the right to be a full participant in our communities.

Pathways to Teaching, B.A.E.

The Pathways to Teaching program offers students across the state an opportunity to deepen their relationship with their community by becoming an educator at a local school. This intensive program is completed in only 17 months (4 continuous semesters: spring, summer, fall, spring), and Pathways students receive a $1,000 monthly stipend while they are enrolled. Classes are held on-site at our District Partner schools across Arizona, enabling students to earn their degree in elementary education (K-8) with an ESL endorsement without relocation.

Teaching, Learning, and Sociocultural Studies, Ph.D.

The doctoral program in Teaching, Learning & Sociocultural Studies (TLS) prepares students to investigate and address a broad range of issues in teaching and learning. Emphasizing a sociocultural perspective, the program nurtures innovative ways of knowing, methods of inquiry, and approaches to problem-solving. Students are encouraged to focus their studies in one of our 7 focus areas but may customize a plan of study in agreement with their graduate committee to fit their interests and needs.
 

Educational Leadership & Policy, Ph.D.

The Educational Leadership & Policy Ph.D. program is designed to expand the boundaries of the educational leadership and policy field with an explicit focus on inclusivity, social justice, and anti-racism. The program prepares leaders to achieve results in the nation's schools by translating theory and knowledge into practice, applying research to inform decision-making, and following ethical principles.
